Hello,

I’ve not updated for a while so I decided that tonight I will fill everyone in on whats been going on.

I HAD MY OPERATION!!!

I now have a new floof!!

I had the op on 1st November. Went in for 7.30am and met the nurse who was looking after me and the anaesthetist and then my cons doctor. Went down for surgery about 8.40am and was chatting to the anaesthatist and the theatre nurse. The anaesthetist put the canula in no problem and then gave me some painkiller stuff. Then the cons came in and he told me to open my legs cos he wanted to mark where the pain was! So I was laid there out of my face with my legs akimbo and a consultant drawing on my floof!!

Eventually he finished and the anaesthatist said that he was going to put me to sleep now with the stuff that killed Michael Jackson!! Anyway, I went to sleep and then woke up at 9.30am! So really really quick.

The nurse in the recovery room told me to try and rest but after an anaesthetic I always talk loads of rubbish so I told her that I couldn’t because now I needed to talk crap! She listened to me and everything!!

Anyway, when I had come round properly I could immediately feel a difference. It just felt better, even though there were stitches and I was in pain it still felt soooo much better than after the episiotomy.

I finally got to go home at 2.30pm

I had a look with a mirror when I got home and there were loads of stitches but it looked better than it did. Nothing was all open or anything. It looked completely different.

I went to the doctors the day after to get some stronger painkillers and she booked me in to have the disolvable stitches out 9 days later.

9 days came and I went to see the nurse and she was lovely. She hurt me and she stopped straight away to give me a breather. Anyway back to it and another nurse came in to help. There were stitches right inside. Like RIGHT inside!! In the end she gave up with the ones inside because she just couldn’t get to them. She managed to take about 8 stitches out in the end.

Since I’ve had the stitches out OMG. Its amazing. You can’t even see any scarring. Its that good.

And sex is amazing!!!! ;p

Morning!

Well, I don’t really have much to update just yet.

Going to get O weighed this afternoon so will be interesting to see what she’s up to now. Last time she was 18lb 11oz so I’m thinking that she’ll be around 19lb 11oz but we’ll see.

We’ve got a lot better with napping. She know now that when she goes in her cot that its sleep time. She doesn’t always sleep but has been having power naps and has on a couple of occasions slept for 2 hours!! I have found that she will only really sleep on her front and she sticks her middle and ring finger in her mouth and sucks them till she goes to sleep. I’ve found that she does this when she’s tired too.

I am shattered. Even though she is sleeping through early mornings are a killer. I would love to lie in without being woken up or worrying about what she’s doing.

Will try to update later with what the HV says.

Hello,

Well I finally had an appointment with a different cons about my floof. After talking to him about my whole story and having a laugh at the cons who nearly fell off his stool trying to pull O out, he had a look at my floof and then sat down and said ‘well, I can cut it out for you!’ I could have kissed him I can tell you.

Then he got his diary out and has booked me in for 1st November!!!!

He asked what they said at Scunthorpe because they had put down that they couldn’t find anything so I told him that they said that they would just cut me on the other side to which he asked what that would do and I told him I had no idea at all. I told him all about clomid, OHSS, PCO, DH’s vasectomy, everything. He was so so lovely. Really relaxed and calm and not overly serious.

When he had a look he said he could see the scarring and that even though it doesn’t look bad its obviously causing pain so it needs to go. He said that I will be going in in the morning and being operated on in the morning and then go home in the afternoon. He said that it will take about 10 minutes!!!

I’m sooooo pleased that Bells (on FZ) found this cons for me. I owe her a big vodka.

I am sooooo excited that I’m being fixed!!

O is getting bigger and bigger. Not had her weighed again yet but will try to get her weighed on Friday.

The weaning is going well. She likes to feed herself which is good.

Not heard anything from the hospital about getting my bits fixed. So I called the hospital and the secretary said that it takes only a few days from receiving the letter to getting the appointment out so then called the GP who don’t appear to have sent anything. So got to call them back tomorrow.

I am cross.

Right so I went to the doctors and I am deficient in zinc which is why my hair is falling out. So I am now of Solvazinc to try to boost my immune system and hair growth.

I’m thinking about getting my hair cut and getting it dyed to more my natural colour but can’t really decide.

I’ve also got a cough and I’m full of cold. Not impressed.

O has also been poorly. We had a horrible first night with her ill. She kept waking up, had a feed at 2am. I felt like I was back with her being newborn again. It was heart wrenching to watch her struggling to breathe through her nose cos it was so blocked. I got loads of olbas oil and stunk the room out and some saline nasal spray to help clear her nose at night, which has actually worked quite nicely.

O is getting really big now. She’s on the 91st centile for her weight and her height. Going from the 25th and 9th! When I hold her to feed her she’s just sooooo long!!

She really really smiles now too which is great! And laughs lots at DH!!

Weaning is going really well. She loves banana and her yoghurt with fruity bits for breakfast! We did stop for a few days because of her cold and she went totally off her food but she’s back on it again which is fab!!

Hello, not updated for a while as things have been a bit mad recently.

My hair has started to fall out to the point where I have patches. I’ve had a load of bloods done and I’m at the doctors tomorrow. My results were…

Testosterone (because of the PCO) – Normal

Ferritin – Normal

Thyroid – Normal

FBC – Satisfactory

Iron – Borderline

Zinc – Low

I’m going to get the actual values tomorrow so I can find out how low low actually is.

I just feel so tired and rubbish at the moment. I want to sleep all the time and just generally feel run down.

On a happier note I have started weaning O!!! We went to the HV and had her weighed and measured. She weighed in at 17lb 11oz and measured 69cm!! She’s pretty much almost on the 91st centile so she’s gonna be a tall ‘un!! The HV was surprised when I said she was only on milk and that I’d not started to wean her at all.

So I am trying to follow baby led weaning (BLW) This is basically where baby feeds themselves. You give them solids with handles and they eat! I have been doing some spoon feeding too which has been going well. She had mash and beans yesterday followed by a yoghurt.

This morning she woke up at 4am for a feed though so I’m thinking that food maybe wears off faster than the milk because she usually sleeps 11 hours, then has a feed, then goes back to sleep for another hour or 2.

Wish me luck at the doctors tomorrow!!!

Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome.

Horrible.

I was on clomid and after not ovulating on 100mg they upped it to 150mg. Around cd 13 I noticed that my stomach was getting bigger. After a few days I was in size 14 jeans. I called the secretary and she got me in. I saw the cons and they said that I may be just ovulating, but they did blood tests and arranged a scan.

Next thing I was back into clinic and being told I had a 5cm cyst on my ovary and had OHSS. I had to go back for another scan in a week and to see the cons.

He told me that it was rare to get OHSS on clomid although it does happen. It was then that he went back through all my notes and found I had PCO. I told him about my hair falling out and he said that this was another symptom of PCO.

He signed me off work for a week at which point I had to go back to see him to see what was happening with this cyst. I had more scans and was eventually told that they would have to operate to remove the cysts as they were not 5cm, 8cm and 9cm all on one ovary so he may not be able to save my ovary depending on how they came out.

I was off work for a total of about 5 weeks.

Bad times.
